There are always exciting volunteer opportunities at United Way! No matter what your interest, United Way has an opportunity for you to get involved in your community.
You will have new experiences, meet new people, have fun and most rewarding of all you will be using your strengths to make Fredericton, Oromocto and surrounding areas a better place to live.A big thanks goes out to our current volunteers that helped at member agency events throughout the summer and those that signed up for Harvest Jazz & Blues this year. HJ&B will be making a donation to United Way on behalf of the time our volunteers give. This goes towards our annual campaign to assist our 35 member agencies, 88 programs. Days of Caring
ONE DAY OF CARING CAN CHANGE LIVES!
WHAT IS DAY OF CARING®?
Day of Caring® is a special program coordinated in your community by United Way/Centraide (Central N.B.) Inc. Its goal is to mobilize teams of corporate employees as volunteers, to complete meaningful, hands-on projects that will greatly assist local non-profit agencies in
United Way/Centraide (Central N.B.) Inc. facilitates the Day of Caring program throughout the year at the convenience of the participating company. Projects could include painting, construction, renovations, landscaping, maintenance, helping out at events, assisting with program services, training, and many other imaginative ways to get involved.

Community Fund and Endowment/Forever Fund
Community Fund
United Way/Centraide Community Fund is used to invest in a solid, reliable, human service network. We invest in local service agencies that provide a wide range of network support around our community. Our accredited agencies are active partners in designing program and service delivery that impact the community in a meaningful way. When you give to the Community Fund, you are supporting 36 member agencies and 88 programs in your community.
This funding is used in two ways: (1) for programs and services that address problems which people already face (2) for programs and services that reduce or eliminate root causes of problems.
Agencies and Programs
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Fredericton and Oromocto offers Community and School based one-to-one mentoring programs to children ages six to sixteen from primarily single parent families. Children gain encouragement, direction and support from responsible and caring adult volunteers. Big Brothers-Big Sisters’ is committed to building the future of our community’s children through friendship.
